Hot, hot, hot! + Contest deadline extended | Derry family photography

Have I mentioned how much I LOVE this sunny weather we're having? After 3 wet and dreary years, I'm finally enjoying a real summer again. I was beginning to think they didn't exist in Ireland. ;) I might even have a tan! My kids love it too, although they had a hard time falling asleep in the heat last night.

I'm expecting a busy weekend - lots of camera time plus meeting up with an old friend from the US - so I won't have a chance to choose a winner for the Boys of Summer Giveaway until Monday. Feel free to continue sending your entries over the weekend!

Well, it's onto paddling pool supervision and dinner duty for me. :)

I've been working on the new galleries for the website this week, and it has come to my attention that boys are severely outnumbered by girls in the kid section. To rectify this situation, I am offering up a FREE portrait session including an 8x10 print of my choice (valued at £70 total) to one lucky family!

• To enter send me an email with "Contest" as the subject OR leave a comment here. (No registration is necessary, but please enter your email address so I have a way to contact you!)
• To qualify you must have at least one son aged 3-16, be available for a session during July, and be willing to sign a consent form allowing me to use the photos in my online portfolio.

• Entry will close Friday 26 June, and a winner will be drawn at random and notified shortly thereafter.

My husband and I are taking the children to America to visit my family. Many of my relatives will be meeting my son for the first time, so we're all very excited! :) I know summer is a busy season for everyone, so if you're considering a portrait session please call or email to get it on the books as soon as possible.
